We will provide clients with relevant models and material to help them understand the best practice approach, learn how to implement in their situation, and to assess progress. These same tools help reinforce use until it is fully adopted during the normal course of business. It is also utilized in training others to spread the approach across the organization based early success.
Specific models can be developed based on documented best practices that have not yet obtained this level of clarity. An example is that a best practice instructional model was developed based on educational research that is now used as the standard for excellence in a progressive independent school.
This methodology is being documented in a reference book that should be available in the future.
Leaders: are they born or developed; nature or nurture?
Do I have to be a character like Patten to be a great leader? I read books about new leaders of technology like Steve Jobs and old political leaders like Lincoln. They seem so different, so what should I lean from them to be a better leader?
You know my premise that there is always a fundamental model (framework or process) that can give you simple insight into complicated systems. This is true for leadership.
Several studies have been done across organizations or businesses to determine who people identify as the best leaders. They then go in as an observer and determine the common elements these leaders follow and capture it in a model.
I used a model I call Leadership Kinetics (seven steps in a defined sequence) leadership for many years with different groups, from different companies, in different cultures and different situations, and it works. I have also trained others and they can understand it and use it in minutes. Remember, I will not teach you anything that I have not used successfully myself
So what is the first step in Leadership Kinetics? Establishing a strategic direction.
